I have loved the Los Angeles Dodgers since I was a kid. I have been a fan for 37 years. I saw them win their second world series title in a row, and it honestly felt bitter sweet. It didn’t feel right. After learning about the owner investing in The Geo Group (For-Profit Prisons and For-Profit Immigration Detention Company) and Palantir (Surveillance) and after writing the team three letters to voice my discontent, and yet still no reply. I find it sad, that the team that used to be known for breaking the color barrier, and Jackie Robinson, is now known as the team that commodifies peoples suffering.
I am done. I have been disappointed before. My country disappointed me. My religion disappointed me, and now even my sports teams disappointed me. It saddens me because in this crazy cruel world, ran by evil people, we all just want to escape into something that was supposed to be innocent but I guess everything is about money now. I no longer watch many films anymore, and I am turning off the sports too. It will leave me with more time to fight for a future. I talked to a young lady in her twenties the other day, and she told me, she no longer believed in a future. It is time to fight back.
One day on one of my walking tours, an anglo man, was very angry with me, because I said something about Elon Musk. I explained to the guest how something Musk said was wrong, and I even explained to him how that man Musk is making my life dangerous here. I explained to this man, how Elon Musk emboldens the right wing. I told him how my life had even been threatened at the very intersection we were standing at, and he said “so what” he clearly did not care about what B.I.P.O.C. suffer. I could see racism did not affect him, so he could care less. He even left without paying and even wrote my company trying to get me fired. What also troubled me, was that man sounded Israeli. He had the same accent as many Israeli tourists I have had in the past. I would have thought he would be against any nazi or neo nazi movements, but I guess I was wrong.
History Is Not Even History
In Nazi Germany they passed out writings from another big rich car guy named Henry Ford, and they would show them to the kids in school and the kids would read them and say, “wow, if the successful businessman thinks this way about these people, then what our teachers are saying must be true.”
What Will Tomorrow Bring
I think about kids today, kids that do not read. Kids that watch videos and at times aren’t sure if what they are seeing is real. How will these kids respond to a man (possibly the world’s first trillionaire), putting these racist ideas in their heads today?
The sexist, racist, felon accused of rape and other crimes that sits in the white house and represents the people of the so-called United States (Stolen land, euro colonial settler project) and his white supremacist wannabe crusader secretary of defense who seems to love to kill B.I.P.O.C. are both war criminals committing war crimes. The bombing of fisherman is a crime. Even if the racist that represents the people of the so-called “Land of the Brave” were correct about his assumptions, human beings still need to be tried by courts and it needs to be proven that a crime has been committed.
What if a foreign power accused (the accused rapist)sitting in the white house of being a sexual predator (accused of many crimes), and what if a foreign power accused the U.S. of being complicit in genocide (Gaza), and of being responsible for the deaths of millions of Muslims in the last 30 years? What if a foreign power told the U.S. that they would shut down their air space?
Why doesn’t the world sanction Israel or any of these western powers committing genocide? How could these western powers sanction Russia so quickly, and not the U.S. when the U.S. invaded Iraq? What purpose does the so-called United Nations play, when they cannot physically put a stop to Israelis killing and starving Palestinians?
I am a simple man. I wish only to live a simple life.
But they push and they push. I read of white men in Europe and the Anglosphere, regurgitate non-sense about how they are being replaced. Many of these men are from Euro-Settler Colonial Societies, that have committed genocides and now claim to be victims.
I read about how in the U.S. white males complain of no work, how the good jobs have left. Well maybe that is true, but that is capitalism. That is the ideology they applaud.
These men, do not take account that B.I.P.O.C. in the U.S. also are struggling with job safety. We that do not have the same intergenerational wealth. We that are over-policed, and deal with overt and structural racism, and even lateral violence on the daily.
Those privileged white males act like we have real political power. They act as if their countries economy was not enriched by the war industry, that kills brown people at will.
They play victim of the same greedy evil capitalistic system that they applaud.
Now I say to them “pull up your boot straps, whats up then, why you crying?”
You are from the empire that has gotten rich off the suffering of others. The suffering of those students your government had murdered, world wide, that you never cared to learn their stories.
The suffering of people tortured, that you never even bothered to read about it, or push so that evil would never again be done in your name.
You play the victim, but you are the perpetrators who murder and dissappear indigenous women. You are from the empire that trains the death squads to do their dirty work.
You voted an evil hate monger into office, who does not work to curve the carbon footprint of the country, he pushes to abolish enviromental protection laws. Who is the biggest polluter on the planet?
A man was shot a few days ago, and you flew his body aboard a presidential plane. Why didn’t the bodies of Malcolm X, or Martin Luther King Jr. get the same treatment?
They are threatening people who say anything about this white nationalist, who was probably killed by another white nationalist, and yet say nothing when Stephen Miller or Donald Trump dehumanize people. They say nothing of those dying in immigration detention, or the millions they starve worldwide with their economic policies.
What Left?
The Oligarchs with real power, keep talking about “The Left” What left? You have two PRO WAR, PRO GENOCIDE, PRO BIG BUSINESS parties.
It is simple people that ask for you to stop killing and funding and arming genocides that you label the enemy. People that want peace and a more just world are what you consider your enemy.
You do not fool anyone, you just throw labels around, so you can kill B.I.P.O.C. and continue your evil class war.
It breaks my heart to see what the United States has turned into, but maybe this is exactly what the country always was.
My country is the number one incarcerator on the planet.
It is a place where one out of every three women, behind bars worldwide, is incarcerated in the so-called “Land of the Free.”
And Still It’s Not Enough
We watch them now as they seem to take delight in building more prisons/concentration camps and outsourcing victims of their foreign policy to other countries in what they call the “global south” where shameless presidents who join in on the commodification of suffering. We watch as their outpost in the Middle East (Israel), shoots at people, desperate for food. The United States has been complicit in that genocide since day one. Yet they do not bat an eye as the kill the people of Gaza. I saw U.S. professional baseball teams, tweet about their support for Israel, but spoke nothing about the people of Palestine. It is as if some lives mattered more than others.
All our life they told us about the Holocaust and they showed us those images, and for what, if it was not to make sure injustice and racism ended?
Did they not teach us that history, so we could create a world that would never allow those attrocities to be committed on anyone? If that was not the reason the taught us that history, then what was their motive, or was it more for geo-political reasons?
After over 15 months of watching a genocide in Gaza.
I then think about all the people that do not seem to be bothered by any of it.
I think about racists who still proudly say they are nazis, like a bald-headed security guard that works at a store I recently shopped at. This skin head looking jerk, was harassing a young man of Arican descent today, accusing him of stealing. The young man got very angry, and I could understand why. He has probably experienced as much racism as I have living here in Germany.
In the end like I suspected the young man did not steal anything but he was still upset. He called the bald-headed security guard a nazi, and the man started saying yes, I am a nazi. Then he started pushing the young man. I started filming and some lady got in my face how in Germany you cannot film, but they sure can push BIPOC people right? She didn’t speak out about that.
I told the security guard not to be pushing the young man. He then got in my face. Luckily for both of us, he did not push me, because I probably would have defended myself immediately and gotten myself in problems with the law.
These arrogant people don’t care that the world is set up very unfairly. They brag about Germany’s Economic Miracle, as if they did not let them. Why don’t you read about Congo’s Economic Miracle or Haiti’s?
The reason is because THEY ARE NOT ALLOWED TO HAVE ONE, there has always been meddling in their countries affairs, from western super military power countries. In Haiti’s case especially, there seems to have been an alterior motive, meant to put them in their place, for having the audacity to fight back and freed themselves from slavery.
I hurts me to see, people of African descent, getting mistreated in Europe. I find that so sad. I think about how rich the African continent is and I wonder to myself, “imagine if the African continent could truly kick off all the colonial shackles and unite.”
I thought about how if Africa united then they could truly provide for their people, and give their people, the life they deserve. What a beautiful thing that would be.
I have seen my people also mistreated in the racist United States my whole life. I watch videos of I.C.E. agents targetting brown people, and it seems they take great pleasure tackling people on city streets for the crime of being brown.
They seem to have no quarrel, separating families, and causing irreperable trauma on children. They must truly enjoy terrorizing people, to the point where people are afraid to go outside. They must enjoy destroying brown lives. I wonder if they do not see that those people they terrorize are natives of the Americas, unlike the people that order the raids, including that racist, living in the white house.
